He quits drinking fluids about 6 pm except for a few sips during the night. Lately he wets thru the briefs thru the sheets and does not know why. I have ordered a bed pad. Any suggestions.

Incontinence can come with age, and especially with dementia. It doesn't seem to matter if they stop drinking fluids after dinner or not; the urine collects in the bladder when lying down and it has to come out.

I order Extrasorbs disposable chucks online at Amazon.com and they work a charm for keeping the bed linens dry. Try using extra booster pads inside the briefs (like doublers) for added absorbency also.
