To help us respond better, can you give a little background?
How old is your husband?
When was he diagnosed with dementia?
Were you given any indication of what kind of dementia it might be?
How drastic of a change is this for him? For example, is it more of how he's always been but more extreme, or is verbal abuse new behavior for him?
What kind of doctor is following his dementia? (neurologist, GP, psychiatrist, etc.)

Medication may help. Problem is a diabetic can be like this too if having problem with insulin.
