He has had dementia for 2 1/2 years. I have been trying to get him the VA, adult protective services, the police, etc. I have gone to so many resources for help. No one helps. He is rapidly declining. Suddenly I get informed that the state is now going to place my dad into a state facility! I told them I have his VA facility and  just need the VA Dr to sign off on his assessment. I'm not sure what else to do. I have even spoke to VA pro-bono attorneys, no one has any answers other than to put him in the car and leave him at a facility. He  will know where he is, he recently said I am not going to a nursing home to die.
He is getting very agitated and not eating (except ensure). He doesn’t remember anything on most days. I really hope someone on here can give me advice. Thanks.

It seems the State has got involved. If they went to court for guardianship, your POA is revoked. A guardianship overrides POA. You need to contact the person who is making decisions for Dad and tell them what you said here.

I'm sorry to hear you and your Dad are in such a difficult situation. I'm sure you'll receive some good advice here. I am oversees so things work differently, so I can't advise, but I am sure there will be a way forward.
