My father lives with me; however my brother wants to sell his home car and place him in a nursing home, which I oppose. My brother found out he fell and bruised his arm. This was found by having my father strip down to his under ware in front of his wife and daughter, and then he took photos. This to me is abuse and inappropriate. Any advise?

Unless that bruise is in the shape of your hand there is no way anyone would think an elderly person with a bruised arm is abused. Elderly people fall. They bruise. A nursing home can't fix that.

Why is your brother so hostile?

Yes, abusive and very inappropriate. Have you called Adult Protective Services?

Are you living in Dad's home and using his car?

Sounds like time to document what happens to dad, all accidents, etc. Cover your backside.

You have to be very careful if you think you will need Medicaid in the next five years. The house will have to be sold at Market Value and the car too. All the proceeds should be put in an acct for his future car. None of the money can be given away. Its Dads as long as he is alive.

If you r his caregiver, why is brother worried about Dad? Hope he doesn't think he will get any money from the sale of the house/car. Children are not entitled to assets when parent is still living.

If you are caring for dad in his home you should check into a Medicaid waiver that may be available in your state. A caregiver can remain in the home after providing two years of medically necessary care for a parent. Check with an elder law attorney in your state and know the law.
