The first small LTC facility my MIL was in was terrible at communicating information (in our case it was regarding Medicaid). It led to all sorts of billing and cost problems that could have been easily solved if *they* hadn't assumed we knew anything about Medicaid (which we didn't because we were too young and inexperienced) and we hadn't assumed they would tell us stuff. I suggest you just politely keep in regular contact with them and ask lots of questions.
