She's on multiple antidepressants and sleeping tablets. Has tried mindfulness, breath work, meditation etc. It's not sinemet wear off as we have tried that avenue.

It could be a response to the medications. Especially if it is just before a scheduled dose of anti-anxiety medicine.

Does she feel better when she lays down? If that helps, then just plan for her to lay down before 11. Or try a calming medication before 11.

Maybe she's just physically uncomfortable. My husband is incontinent, and it took me a while to learn his agitation and what appeared to be anxiety was just a sign that he needed to have a bowel movement, and it was upsetting and uncomfortable for him. The fact that he has no control, makes it a very stressful event for him. He yells a lot, and is restless and thrashing around. Now, I know to expect a bm soon.

And before I weaned him off of any habit forming anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, he would get very agitated about an hour before the next dose.

Does she drink coffee in the morning? I ask because I drank it all my life and after a certain age I simply could not tolerate much caffeine any more as it upped my anxiety and stress, so I only have it on rare occasion and it is better for me to have it with milk in early to mid afternoon than in the morning when our cortisol levels rise. Also, decaf varies in amount it of caffeine it contains.
Sometimes even tea can up my anxiety and tension at times and I opt for decaf or herbal tea. Hope this may be of some help to you.

Definitely sounds like she's on too many meds which could cause more problems than they cure! Have those medications reevaluated for contraindications!

If nothing else, take mom out for a walk at 11am every day and point out the birds and the beauty of nature. Distraction may help more than anything else.

Good luck to you.

Maybe she has to have her meds adjusted? Talk to her doctor.

Is she watching negative things on TV, like the news? This is something my Mom was doing. She started crying in the mornings and her primary doctor started her on Lexapro, which helped her a lot. I finally got her to watch mostly animal and vet shows.

I hope you can find a solution.
