I am 65 and live in Indiana. My sister is 60 and lives in Montana. She recently went through throat cancer treatment using both radiation and chemo. I would like to move her here so that she can recover her health over the winter without having to support herself financially. My concerns are transfer of health care information, finding a doctor and hospital that will accept her Medicare compensation for her continued treatment needs and just what the steps we should take to allow this to happen as smoothly as possible.

Do you mean "Medicaid" and not "Medicare"? If you mean Medicaid, it cannot be transferred from one State to another... your sister would need to apply from scratch in Indiana and wait to be approved.

Now if your sister somehow gets Medicare, usually one has to be 65 but there are exceptions, Medicare covers the whole United States. You will need to find an Oncologist who takes Medicare patients. I believe that all hospitals will take Medicare patients.
