My Dad has been in an Alzheimer's memory care facility for a little over a year now and seems to have adjusted as well as could be expected - he stopped asking to come home and recognizes many of the staff. He thinks I am his sister. But I need to move Dad soon due to financial reasons (Mom has just been diagnosed with dementia and is also in assisted living). He is nonambulatory, wheelchair-bound and on hospice, but fairly alert. Putting Mom and Dad together unfortunately won't work out - that was my first thought - because they are at very different stages in the disease. Thank you for any input.

Definitely confuses them much more than normal. Seems to almost progress the whole situation. My poor mom has moved from ALF to another ALF to hospital to two different Rehabs and now moving to LTC. It has been a long road. I feel horrible for her because she is so confused from day to day. Is living in a world that is 30-40 yrs old. Good luck!
