My mom just moved to a memory care facility. She has Kaiser as her doctors I had to find a new doctor where the memory care facility is and it seems to correspond with the Medicare dilemma I take care of all her finances and need that money for her care... My father was always very good with taxes I know they owe nothing

Sewing, did your Mom have any IRS issues in the past? That is the only reason I can think of that would cause a social security check to be much less. The IRS can garnish social security payments.

Depending on what you find out, I would seek additional support for your mom through other sources. I would explore state public assistance programs like food stamps as well as any Federal programs.

Go with your mother to the nearest social security office to speak to someone in person. I learned from experience that calling their office does not work.
