She says she has no bowel movement but with the laxative tea and prune juice she does. It's usually in the morning when getting up she says she can't go for days and yet after the prune juice and tea work she's fine. But 2 hours later she can't remember she went. It's so bad at times her thinking she can't go brings on anxiety attacks. What else can I do? I don't argue with her she's gone, but sympathize with her and say give it a chance you'll go after the tea and prune juice work.

Is appears that the problem is anxiety and agitation (trust me, if it wasn't about BMs, it would be something else). Free floating anxiety can attach itself to ANYTHING!

Talk to her doctor about her anxiety. There are meds for this.

My Dad was like that. He would swear he had been days without a BM. He actually had explosive diarrhea! All the time! I would just nod and go on about the day. Never reacted to this obviously wrong claim.

One of my favorite stories was the day the new part-time caregiver was talked into giving my dad a laxative! Holy cow. The mess was everywhere! She had to go rent a carpet steamer and I left her to clean him up and the bathroom. I was mad as h*ll....but now I find it funny.
