She's 88, has a bad heart and is in kidney failure. We do peritoneal dialysis at home. Her heart can't stand the drops in blood pressure caused by the dialysis. She is diabetic and walks with a walker. If she goes out, I use a wheelchair to transport her. She is on Medicare and TriCare for Life (military insurance). She is on Social Security and has my dad's military survivors benefit also.

Check with your State. Some States have a program to pay family caregivers. I don't know what the rules are for this. However, I do know Medicare will not pay for private care. If she has other disposable income, then you can contact an elder law attorney to see if a contract can be formally written up (in case you're audited by the IRS) for her to pay you. Read up on this site for ideas as there have been multiple threads on this exact question.
