Should I be concerned about my mother wanting to lay down a lot? She also acts like she cannot breath sometimes.

My mother has dementia. She wants to lay down a lot lately. She also seems like she can not breath. I ask her what is wrong and she says nothing. This only lasts a few minutes. Are these systems that goes along with her problem.
