My mother who is usually the sweetest person I know has had bouts of anger lately. Is this normal? She was upset about the trash the other day and was yelling and then yesterday was angry about the tv and takes it out on me her caregiver. She also stated that things that have Been here since I have moved in are now changed and she doesn't know why. I.e.: there are a lot of cords for the tv, vcr, satellite dish and tv's should nay have ONE cord. Is this normal, will it get worse. One minute angry and next doesn't remember and back to sweet self.

Unfortunately, in my experience- yes, it will get worse. Perhaps start making some private notes for yourself to see if you can identify any pattern - time of day, sleep patterns, subject matter. Also, see if you can get your mom to her doctor or better yet - a geriatric psychiatrist to determine if medication such as an anti anxiety rx might help.

Momofsadie, take Mom to the doctor and have him/her check Mom for an urinary tract infection [UTI].... such an infection in a person who is elderly can take a real sweet person and make them very angry.

I did think of uti as this is a new response from her, yet she is nice for most of the day, but has these bouts of aggression. So if it was a uti wouldn't she be angry all the time? Just wondering
