I am.not familiar with either of these meds. Are you in the U.S.? If treating dementia and it's effects it is common that meds do not have the intended effect. Often there is a period of trial and error to find the right combination of meds that will help with the symptoms. For example mom's doc prescribed ativan to help with anxiety and aggression. It had completely the opposite effect on her as was intended. There is no way to know what will work as it is dependent on how the brain will process the meds. Let the doctor know that it is not working and it is time to try something else.
