Medicaid wants her to renew her coverage and the form they sent her is asking about my income. Both of our names are on the bank account, but she has no personal income other than SSI/Disability.

My mother, on Medicaid, moved in with my sister. My sister's income and assets were no part of the renewal process!

Not sure why your income would have anything to do with Mom. If she is getting SSI then probably not enough too have a place of her own. Does your Mom put money into this account? If not take her name off of it. I agree, I would call her Medicaid rep.

Well it sure wouldn't be fair if that were the case, would it! Is she paying you room and board? I don't know if that makes a difference, but maybe "landlords" don't have to be counted on the form.

Also be sure you really have to fill in that portion of the form. There was nothing on the form to explain this, but I discovered that when renewing for my husband I did not have to fill out that portion of the form because I was not dependent on his income -- they didn't have to make special exceptions for me as the community spouse.

Call the financial case worker assigned to your mother and ask your questions.
