She has 5 cats to take care of, we help as much as we can living in Magalia, CA. She doesn't allow anyone, any of her children to clean the house out and set it up for her to live a better life for her and her cats. We have tried and tried to tell her for her own health and for her own safety, we have to get in the house to clean it out and set it up for her to enjoy. She will not come and live with any of her children, her daughter in Reno has tried to have her come, we have also said if we were able to clean up the house, her daughter in Chico could move in and help, however she will not allow this either. We are stuck, she is very very hard to get through to, her back is very bad and she needs help now, someone to make her see what we are trying to do for her out of love not trying to take her home away from her, but she is going to need help care in her home soon, she is not able to get around much. Her son, who lives in Chico, stores all his stuff at her home, comes and checks on her but she needs someone who knows her situation to help her realize what she is doing to her health. Her home needs complete clean up, so medically and health wise it is better for her. Please give us a call as soon as possible so we can get her help. Thank you so much, also emotional well being for her and family help to let her know we are trying to help her not hurt her. Oldest Son - Stephen D., Daughter-in-law- Carol D. Please contact as soon as possible.

1. This is a forum; people post; others answer. The forum does not provide direct services of the kind you seek. Nor does it have authority to enter into contractual or other arrangements on behalf of those who request it. This is something you and/or your family will have to handle, despite the fact that it seems your mother doesn't want it.

2. Never, ever put your full names on a public forum. You can contact the Admins through the contact form and ask them to remove your names from your posts.

We are a forum. We are not a doctor or an ER.

Advice only... If it is bad enough to be a threat to health, you can call the local Health Dept., and if she is not of sound mind, Adult Protective Services and she is a danger to herself or others they could step in. If she used to keep house well and things have deteriorated, chances are that she is developing at least mild cognitive impairment. Sorry you are going through this, but at least you are reaching out and trying to get things started on a better path. Your local Area Agency on Aging could be of some help, and you could end up needing a comprehensive geriatric assessment, and/or and eldercare attorney.

You should call Adult Protective Services NOW! When you say "send help now," you don't realize we are not doctors nor ER's nor 911. We are a caregiving support forum.

If your mother is still of clear mind, she can do whatever she wants. Sadly, it will take a major medical situation before she will finally allow anyone to make any changes for her.
