Mother in law was discharged from a nursing home but can't be home alone. Can she be put back into a nursing home?

She had both of her feet removed and is now not able to walk and she lives in a 3 story home in Philadelphia Pa. We live in Quakertown Pa an hour and half away. We want to get her into a facility up here so that we can make sure she is able to get the care she needs.

Was the rehab told she was going to a home with no help and to a 3 story house. Medicare determines when a person has gotten where therapy can't help her. Did she get home therapy? U may need to call her PCP and run this all by him. If she can afford it, maybe she could go into a nice AL and sell her house.

Anytime someone needs a NH they can apply. Some have waiting lists. The problem is how to pay. If she was there on Medicare for rehab., she might not be elligible. Talk to someone in charge of a NH to find out. And good luck. My aunt was an hour and 1/2 away for rehab, and I called and visited some nearby me to get her transferred.
