My mother feels the need to know every little detail about everything, she is 79 has early C.O.P.D. Is there some reason for this is?

well she recently moved in and she has lost 2 children in the past year and we didnt tell her right away about my sisters cancer
we wanted to wait for the right time. when my wife died suddenly when she was told she had a heart attack
