The state of Georgia said my mother does not qualify for nursing facility because her care is Custodial and not Skilled. Any advice?

Call your county office of the aging for help. If she is low income, she may get help at home through a Medicaid waiver program.

Learned something new with custodial vs skilled. Looks like u may have to look into an aide. Call office of aging and medicaid. Friends were able to get help thru Medicaid since MIL has no assets.

Was mom married to a vet? Also you may want to consider an adult family home. The cost is usually 2500-3000 a month. My mother now lives in one. It has 6 residents, and with her va benefits and ss we can almost cover the cost so we are able to stretch the little money she has left.
