I can no longer leave my husband alone because of cardiac arrest "symptoms". (I say symptoms because the doctors will not verify that he went into cardiac arrest the last 2 times, (this month), that he became unconscious, continued vomiting, heart beat stopped, breathing stopped, and 911 operator verified analogue breathing the first time. I had to give him guided CPR this last time.) Over the last 2 months he has been in the hospital 3 times. I have purchases a quality stethoscope, (so I can actually hear if he has a heart beat), wrist BP cuff, (he has extremely low/high BP), baby monitor, (which has NO long distance - out in my yard - capabilities). I am waiting for the smart watch I just bought to come in the mail. I have a Logitech camera connected to my computer in my living room but what I need is monitor that will let me watch him, (maybe on my phone), while I am outside mowing, etc.. I am weary of researching "home care items" so any suggestions on monitors that work for you will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Find Care & Housing
My husband is bedridden, and it's just he and I here, so obviously I have to go out and about to get groceries, go to Dr etc. What I use is the Blink Security cameras. I have one on the mantle in living room where my husband is, and I can check on him any time I want from my phone. I have their older models that do have sound, but they now make them with 2 way talk. This system has worked great for me and has given me peace of mind when I have to be away.

I have a YI camera that transmits to any smart phone.  I put my smart phone on my bike and can see.  Will not help with BP etc, it is to prevent mom from wandering off

There are the home security systems that you can install that have cameras you can place in rooms and see what is going on on your phone.
BUT if you're mowing the lawn are you going to be able to watch him at the same time? Even if you are sitting in the yard having a cup of coffee and reading a book if you look up and see him in the living room and the next time you look up he is on the floor in the bedroom if 5 minutes have passed that is a LONG time in an emergency. And I can sit and read a book and loose track of time. Or if it is not reading a book it could be checking email or even doing the laundry in another part of the house.
I gotta tell you this would scare the crap out of me!
Would it be possible that until he actually has a diagnosis and an acceptable treatment could you get a caregiver or even a family member to stay with him if you are gone? (Or hire a neighbor to do your yard) I really dislike being told I have to confine myself to the house so this would be difficult for me and I would have to have someone that I could call on to stay in the house if I had to go out.

Carla, it sounds as though your dear husband needs a higher level of care than one person can give at home. Have you considered placing him somewhere where others are around 24/7 to monitor him?
