My Mom (91) before when you talk to her she will smile but now no reaction at all. Anyone else experience this?

Does your mom have dementia? Could it be that she's just lost in her own world?

I too am going through he same thing. I need to bring mom back to doctor to see if she may be suffering depression. There are so many contributing factors. Lack of independence, big change in lifestyle (retired). I cry because I watch her almost wither away before my eyes. Plus she is lonely. She just stares into the air.
