She has been told she can only go to church and doctor appointments, or she will lose her in home help. Can she go to the bank, Bible study, and her once a month women's meeting?

It depends on what program she is receiving help through. In some cases the philosophy is if she can go to the bank, she could go to a clinic for the help. There were times, for example, when my husband was expected to go to the rehab center for PT and other times he could have it at home, depending on his health at the time.

Discuss the requirements with her case worker. I would think that if she could get there her women's meeting would be therapeutic. But I'm not the one interpreting the program's rules!

Follow the rules, but be sure you understand them fully and don't limit Mom more than you really need to.

I live in NY, and the VNA service is for the home bound patient. If she is able to get out and about, and they find out about it, the service stops.
