My mom, 88 keeps her eyes closed all day long. When asked to open her eyes, she says yes but keeps them closed. Help.

Hi dutchess, does your Mom have Alzheimer's ? I noticed on your profile it said you were caring for a friend with Alzheimer's - is that your Mom? Did she have a stroke by any chance? I read that people that have had strokes sometimes cannot open their eyes for awhile. I don't know what eles to say. Sorry. I would go to her primary doctor if it continues.

I wonder if she's dizzy when she opens her eyes.
