I'm not sure about her chart, as the evening charge nurse was busy when I asked and I guess no one else has the authority to show it to me. She is getting labs in the morning and got tylenol for the fever. The respiratory therapist came in and turned her O2 down to 4 liters and administered an albuterol nebulizer, which she will have every 4 hours. They said they would be doing labs again in the morning to try to determine the source. She seemed calmer when I left, but I think I'm going to be popping in a little more frequently with our sat meter and checking on them myself. I just wonder how long they can be low like that before they do real damage.

Obtw, does her chart show that her o2 sat was actually 57 this am?

I'm not a medical professional, but if she's spiking a fever after being treated for pnemonia, I'd want a physician or APRN to asssess her. Pneumonia ( at least this has been my experience with my mom) does not always respond to the first antibiotic. I'd err on the side of caution here and call 911 if there is no doc available at the facility.
