Mom has onset of dementia and other underlying health issues. I'm unable to work outside of the home, in need of financial help. Help!

Call the Area Agency on Aging. Michigan has very unusual laws on elder care. There are a few on this site in Michigan, they may be by.

Thomee54 - so sorry for your mom and your situation. Here's an article about some ways to get paid for taking care of your mom.
Also, can you collect early retirement or SS income?
