My dad always felt more secure when he had a few bucks in his wallet. Me, I use my debit card to buy a cup of coffee. But when my dad went into the nursing home he still wanted some money to keep on him. I was afraid it would be lost or stolen and it did turn out that he'd lose it or it was stolen so I only gave him as much as he could afford to lose and I never gave him any denomination higher than a $10 bill. There was nothing in the nursing home he needed money for but it made him feel better to have it on him so I'd give him a $5 bill and 5 ones. I'd check his wallet occasionally and sometimes that money would be there, sometimes it wouldn't. I never questioned him, I just replenished it. It was a small price to pay to make him feel secure and more in control of his life.

At least she is not accusing you of stealing money or she's hiding it and doesn't remember where she put it

When mom moved to memory care, I got her play money which is very real looking - she'd spend hours counting it and gave her great comfort

I couldn't help but smiling; Google sending us money would be nice :)

At least your mom expects somebody gives HER money, my mom is the opposite, she started giving money away to all sort of charities and people who call her daily now... sigh.

I think that Becky is right, a Christmas gift by Google would make me happy too :)

Does she look at her bank balance and all of her transactions? If not, tell her that you set it up to have the money direct deposited into her account. If have asks about it, tell her it’s all in there. Sometimes, you just have to go with their flow.
