And even says that she has seen and heard them in there. They moved from their retirement community into a house about a week ago. We were hoping that this sense of people coming into the house or my dad letting them in would stop. Well it hasn’t. She now accused him of bringing in a woman through the window. I’m not sure how to confront her on this issue. This started about 2 ½ years ago when she lost sight in one of her eyes and was no longer able to drive and was dependent on my dad to take her everywhere she needed to go. She has kidney issues and has diabetes. She’s been going to a therapist but she thinks she doesn’t need to go see a doctor for dementia. Any suggestions?

What kind of a therapist is she seeing? Does this person know about the delusions and hallucinations?

I would not talk to her about dementia treatment or testing. I would simply try to get her to her PCP (and if she needs a new one, I'm make it a geriatrician) for a thorough checkup. Write a note to the doctor ahead of the appointment briefly outlining your concerns. If the doctor finds it appropriate he or she can refer Mom to a specialist.

Yes this therapist knows about the delusions. My dad was going to him first just to try and see what he could do to help my mom. Then he kind of nudged her into going to see the therapist too. Which she does. Not sure the extent of her delusional thoughts she gets into with him though. She's been to a general practitioner and I told my dad that he needed to tell this practitioner to refer her to someone but I don't think this doctor knows about her delusional thoughts. I'm sure my mom did not tell this doctor about them.

Mom probably showtimes when she sees anyone medical but by all means try and get expert advice. These delusions seem to be a far from rare problem with dementia patients. Unfortunately this is sometimes true.
Your Dad sounds as though he has a good head on his shoulders and doing the best he can for Mom.
