My mom, age 90, has had a stroke, which has left her physically weak, some expressive aphasia and mild cognitive issues. She was discharged today to a great rehab facility. I'm torn between going to the facility every day to help her (an hour drive each way, plus giving up my job for the next 2 months), or do I let the facility fo it's job and visit a couple of times esch week?

Find Care & Housing
I am sorry for your Mom's health condition. Why is she in a facility an hour from you? To answer your question, the facility should be prepared to care for your mom without you. I think it is reasonable for your to see her a couple times a week, and be available as needed to see her. Are there other family members who can visit her?

Mom is an hour from me because she has until recently lived in an independent living facility close to where she had lived, about an hour from one brother (in a different direction) and three hours from another brother.

I agree with Perseverance. You should let the staff at the rehab take care of her and get her to take care of herself. Be her friend and daughter more than her caregiver.
