She is on respesidone and she got some of her quality of life back, but the hallucinations and paranoia are bad. Is it normal to have that all day and night hallucinations and paranoia? Is there any medicine that can calm it down some? She has Alzheimer's. She is 83 years old.
Also, what long term a antibiotic is she on? My dad has been on almost every one, and cipro was awful and almost killed him. He had a lot of neuro side effects from that in addition to physical side effects.
I am my 91 year old Grandma's caretaker this past year has been real hard, she has had so many UTI infections that just keep coming back every 10-20 days. All the antibiotics seems to have caused more incontinence.
Does your mother have a neurologist specialist?

It is worrisome and I wonder if it's possible a mix of the medications she is on and this is a terrible side effect. I would check with her doctor again. I don't see hallucinations and paranoia on the list for UTIs:

The UTI is what I worry about because that can also cause problems. Have they actually done a culture. Does she get the antibiotics by mouth or IV. Are you giving her a probiotic and cranberry tablets. Alva swears by D-Mannose. Does Mom drink a lot of water. Does she void completely? It was suggested by a member that leaning forward helps to void.
