We recently started Dad on Namenda. First 10 days were great! Now he is like a zombie. Is there a middle ground?

He likes to do things, and he still will if we give him chores, etc. Otherwise he sits and stares, or reads a catalogue for hours. Is there any middle ground between things? He is on the new once a day dose, and 10 mg aricept.

Good! Glad he's feeling better, and anyone's entitled to the odd off day; but I agree with PS - keep a close watch.

Blips should not be overlooked. Talk with the MD and do frequent bloodwork.

Good advice we see his Dr next week. Today he was back to "normal", busy and talking again. Maybe it was just another blip on the road?

How is your father's kidney function? Just wondering, if it's not 100%, and seeing as he was fine on Namenda to begin with, if there's maybe a build-up going on? I should call your family doctor and ask.
