Since you and your sister are at odds, you may have to see an elder attorney or estate attorney for advice. You want to do several things that only an expert (even a CPA may be able to help) can help you with.

Amazing as it seems, it's very easy to make "too much money" to qualify for help. Many of us have faced this wall. I can't help you there other than offer sympathy. But again, and elder attorney may be able to help you find a route to help. Generally, the rules for that kind of thing are pretty strict.

Good luck,
Carol

If they don't currently want to sell the property - then they should 'loan' your mother the money which they would get back when the property is eventually sold.

Thank you for your advice and sympathy. I may do that. Me and my sibling are suppose to get together this weekend and talk. I can't help with her medicine because I quit my job to take care of her fulltime. I don't have people coming in to help.So they think since I am her daughter and it was my choice to quit work and take care of her that they don't need to help in any kind of way.

I agree they would get the money back but then if they loan her money then I might use it to help with living expenses since she lives with me for free, and I quit my job to take care of her. And then they would have has much money to go places with it is summer time and they are always go. Both brothers stay gone and so does my sister. I haven't had a vacation in 4 years not even 1 night in a hotel.
