My parents (90) are living in a Veterans home together for the past two months. We are being charged alot for their medicine. WHEN they were living at home their medicine was covered by insurance and they paid a small amount per dosage.  Thank you

Speak with a social worker at the Vet's home about this. Sometimes insurance policies change prescription coverage with renewal and that's what may have happened here. Ask their doctors to evaluate what medications they are taking and if the MD can order less expensive medications. I have seen in the past 3 years or so some diabetic medications that are quite effective in treating the disease but also a lot more expensive; maybe this occurred too.
You can go online to see if the drug manufacturers offer coupons for medication discounts. Often they have offers that cut the copay amounts down for a period of time, usually a calendar year (12 months).
