My husband, who is in a wheelchair, is not able to get up out of the chair and into my car for transport to doctor's appointments. This is becoming an issue as our doctor will not refill his prescriptions without seeing him. He also has supplemental insurance.

Find Care & Housing
In my area, there is a cab company that offers wheelchair transport... it's a mini-van that has a back door on the van... when opened a ramp will come out and hubby can stay in his wheelchair and the driver will wheel him into the mini-van and lock the wheelchair.

The cost is much more than a regular cab but much less than a ambulance transport private company.

As for Medicare paying, you would need to call 1-800-633-4227.
