Dad's Medicare coverage for skilled nursing expires June 17th. The doctor told me to consider hospice, will Medicare pay this?

will medicare pay for hospice at skilled nursing facility where my dad is after the 17th and his skilled nursing benefits end he also has tricare for life in the meantime we are waiting for transfer to Baldomero Lopez State Nursing Home and don't know how long after the 17th of June this will be

Definitely go for Hospice, it's covered by Medicare. Call Tricare right away and see if they have a Tricare hospice bed available. That's your best option.

thank you so much for your help he is waiting to be transferred to the veterans state nursing home in land o' lakes Florida do i still have to contact hospice or will they do it or should I get on this with hospice and tricare asap since his medicare coverage end June 17th

sic727, I think perhaps you should go ahead with hospice where your father is.
