My mom is 84. She's been bed bound for a year now. She use to walk all over because we didn't have a car. Than around age 79 her blood pressure would drop and for the next couple of years she'd fall and not remember how she ended up in the hospital. Doctors and therapist all told her she has to do strength exercises to use her muscles. They told her if she doesn't use it she's going to loose it. She didn't listen. At 200lb's my mom is the smallest she's ever been and she's dead weight. I am her only child and her primary caregiver. Unfortunately I recently was laid off from my job. My mom receives disability insurance through SSI. Whatever money I had went to buying her much needed amenities to keep her clean. She is covered by Medicare and Medicaid. However there is no way for me to get her to her doctor to get a prescription for her insurance to cover the cost of these many items. Does anyone know another way to go about purchasing these needed items and have her insurance cover its costs. Thank you

Google Visiting Physicians Association and see if they have any offices in your area.
They will send at home physicians to your home if they can't be transported to a Dr. They become the primary Physician and visit every month, or more often if needed. They are great!

She needs a nursing home. You have no way to get her to an MD, so the care is inadequate. Get her moved ASAP

Medicaid covers incontinence supplies. How long has it been since she has seen the doctor?
