My mother-in-law is an MD resident and owns her condo. I'm in West Virginia just a few miles from the MD border. Her health is failing and I may have her come stay with me .... I can drive her to MD for medical care, but would a Medicaid provider be able to provide in-home assistance to her in my West Virginia home? Thank You!

Understood but her primary residence will remain MD, even if she stays with me in WV for a period of time. Her doctors are in MD, so that's not a problem; my question was if she could receive "in-home" care while she is staying with me in WV?

Medicare can be anywhere, it is a federal program. Medicaid is different, it runs state by state. As soon as she leaves Maryland, Medicaid stops totally. Private insurance like Blue Cross or Independent Health runs only within its contracted providers aka "network".
In West Virginia she has to establish residency and start the application process from square one all over again. This can take months to complete.
