She's 80 and things like doing laundry, caring things like groceries or driving too far to appointments have become too much for her.

Nobody will pay you for laundry, shopping or driving. Now if you have to dress her, bathe her, change a diaper or feed her with a tube, look for a Medicaid waiver program in your state.
