The amount determined by Medicaid for my aunt to pay her nursing home was $406. I have POA for my aunt. After a year of private pay she went government assistant. I was paying the amount that the state had deemed her responsible but after several months the nursing home had her check sent to them and just wondering what has happened to the other 300.00 dollars of her check? And how did they take over with her having a legal POA?
When my dad went into a nursing home they suggested that his social security check be electronically sent to them each month and we said no way. We paid for the nursing home from my dad's money by check each month but they really tried to pressure us into rerouting that SS check of my dad's. They brought it up several times while my dad was there.
I'd get to the bottom of this. When it came to money and bills while my dad was in the nursing home we dealt with their Accounting dept.
