Medicaid application assistance?

Need to find a service to help with the Medicaid application process. Specifically converting from community Medicaid to chronic care. I live in Long Island, NY.

Check with your state bar. In my state, the bar helps fund free legal services for the elderly and their caregivers. There's a bit of a wait, OK more than a bit. They won't help with things like complex estates but with wills, medicare and medicaid issues they will provide lawyers to help for free. Also, check with your county ombudsman. When we had a medicare issue, they arranged for a lawyer to help out for free.
