I got service from "Acadian On Call" for my mother. Very nice system, no phone line is needed, and I got the fall detecting help button. The fact that they don't have a contract was nice, most other companies wanted me to sign up for up to 3 years, Acadian On Call was month to month and very affordable.

Sounds like Grandma isn't as independent as she might think.... how many times has she admitted that she has fallen? An elder usually won't tell you or say it is a lot less than it really is. Or is she only counting the times she fell and needed assistance? How did she get assistance the last time she fell, or did someone find her that way?

Your Grandma would need to check with her supplement insurance to see if an Alert device is covered. Such devices are on a monthly subscription, and it cost extra to have a fall alert [alert that senses a fall when the elder cannot push the button to summon help].
