my father shuts down at any assisted living talk, but struggles to prepare meals due to instability in his legs. Any good pre-made meal delivery services out there? He's done meals on wheels but says they don't taste good, so instead does delivery take out but it's generally expensive and very high fat/high valley. Any good meal delivery programs to recommend?

My mother really enjoyed " Mom's Meals". They are delivered frozen a few at a time or more. Meals are made according to the client's diet restrictions.
They are well balanced and flavorful.

After a hospitalization or rehab stay a certain number of meals are covered by insurance.

"due to instability in his legs". Umm you can sit down to meal prep, can't you?

OK Dad, you can't be bothed to cook. I hear you.

Gosh, I'm in my 50s, have post Covid brainfog & CANNOT BE ARSED to cook at all. A tuna sandwich with lettuce & cheese was about as much as I have done lately. Pre-made meals. By whatever company. Do that. No shame.

I'm still capable of prepping and cooking so I get kit meals for my mom and me from Martha Stewart's Marley Spoon. I've tried about all the kit meals and those have the best taste and variety for us. I haven't tried any already prepared meal services as yet, there are a lot of those available now. They were all showing up in my Facebook feed last week for some reason. I used to enjoy Home Chef kit meals and I see they have "Fresh and Easy" prepared meals now. "Factor_" meals get good reviews. As I say, I haven't tried any of this type, but perhaps others have.

All of these companies have a big discount on your first order, so maybe try out a few using their introductory offers.

Moms Meals is a good option. As far as I know it’s free or very affordable.
