My Dad is 87 yrs old and his dementia is getting worse. Mom died 5 yrs ago. He is continually asking questions where my Mom is and now doesn't believe she died. Thinks family is hiding this from him. He is always having graphic nightmares, talking, getting out of bed in his sleep. This past weekend it was awful, that he wanted to take his life, as I found a 10 inch butcher knife taken out of the drawer. The doctor said this medication will help him with his thoughts. TIA

My husband took a low dose of seroquel the 10 years of his dementia journey. It was amazingly effective for him. Others in my support group took it with varying degrees of success. The only way you'll know if it works for Dad is to try it.
