My husband has benefited from a Roho cushion substantially. We originally had a J3 and he was miserable. With the Roho we can adjust the air and he can sit in it comfortably all day.

My mom loves the Essential Medical Supply Fleece Covered Wheelchair Cushion, 18 Inches X 16 Inches X 3 Inches that's only $15 on amazon but she only stays in her wheelchair 6-8 hours at a time.

If she is going to be spending the rest of her life in her chair then spent the big bucks and get her a ROHO, you might also want to invest in a custom tilt in place wheelchair. Although higher end wheelchairs may seem prohibitively expensive often part of the cost is covered for this kind of equipment, and you won't need to spend any additional money for better cushions and supports later. My mom spent her entire day in her chair, it was tilted when she slept and had lateral and head supports for when she needed that, and I was able to take her out for walks and transport her farther distances using accessible transport service. Best money we could have spent.

If she uses it while in rehab be sure to put her name on it. I've had stuff get misplaced in my MIL's care facility when she's been moved from wing to wing.

I have a cushion in the car from The Back Store. It was not cheap as I recall but is wonderful and I can take long trips where once I could not due to a tailbone problem. But most medical supply stores have excellent, if costly ones. Check on medical coverage for this as well if wheelchair bound.
