Find Care & Housing
A Hospital bed like most DME (durable medical equipment) will be covered by Medicare, Medicaid, the VA and most insurance. (and Hospice provides/covers medical equipment since Hospice is covered by insurance)
If the need is there a doctor ordering whatever equipment is needed is all that you need to get the equipment.
If there is not a "medical need" for the equipment many places have "lending closets" that have equipment.

Our county has a Medical Equipment Loan Program with a variety of things available (like canes, absorbent underwear, commodes, etc.), including hospital beds. It is listed under senior services on our city website. I hope your area might have a similar organization.

PS They have so many hospital beds in stock that when we were looking to donate my late father’s, they were unable to accept it due to size constraints at their storage facility. (We wound up giving it away for free on NextDoor.)

Medicare will pay for a hospital bed if Dr writes up an order saying its needed.

Otherwise, look on craigs list. Try Redcross and your local firehouse.
