Preparing I looked at two NH. Call two days later that one of them has a bed, highly unusual! So soon, I'm left , yes or no.?

Well, you must have thought the time had come or you wouldn't have put him on the waiting list.
Has his condition been stable, or did you look for alternate care because of a crisis of some kind? Can you keep his name on the list for your preferred home if you accept the bed?
When my mother's condition deteriorated suddenly I was overwhelmed and unable to find the additional supports I needed, so I put her on a wait list for the 5 nearest nursing homes, expecting that there wouldn't be an opening for months. I was shocked when I was offered a bed within days! I was not ready, and after a sleepless, tearful night I declined the bed. I eventually got enough support to keep my mom at home. I mention this only to illustrate it is hard to make a choice when you are operating in crisis mode, not to advise you to do the same!
If you can still keep his name at your preferred home you will have the option to move there later. You may find he has settled in well and the move would be distressing for him and opt to leave things as they are, but that is something you only need worry about farther down the road.

Nanalinda, I could take that open bed now, otherwise you could be waiting for months on end. I know you were surprised at how quickly a bed became available. It didn't give you much time to prepare. So scramble and get over there.

You could still keep your name on the nursing home wait list for your first choice and see how the current nursing home works out.... it could be a good fit.

I sense you're concerned that the NH might not be all it seems to be as the bed opened up so quickly. Here in Canada waiting times vary depending on where you live. In the city where we lived the wait could be up to two years. As I planned to move into the country I chose a lovely NH in a tiny village close to the house I purchased and a bed opened up in four weeks.
