I read that SMC means he gets 700 a month toward A&A. But regular Monthly compensation at his rank is only $700 a month less. He is Medically discharged from the Navy having lost his right eye and suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury. I'm reading that now there is concurrent receipt for those who are medically retired. No one will admit that the extra $700 is CR but it's exactly what his pension would be. They won't say it isn't that either. Do you still think he could get A&A for the facility of 1700 that others get for Assisted Living Facilities? Could I get more than the $146 alloted to my A&A to pay for personal care, bathing, cooking, medications etc than I do now? Should I hire someone who works on a percentage of retroactive? I'm sorry I'm such a pest. This is my last question, I promise.

My husband is a 100% service related disabled veteran receiving SMC. He is in an Assisted Living Facility now and receives no financial help toward it. I am much older and disabled. I can't afford the help I need at home. Is there anything that can help me receive Aides to help me, and can he get a benefit for an Assisted Living Facility? Presently it is $2000 a month and my help is $1185 a month. Please help. We live in Florida.
