"Worked" for agency suspended service due to bed bug issue, but worker came by to visit, gave mom "gift". Service resumed now, but this worker helped mom off the books and mom paid her. My fear is if I rat her out to agency they will fire her, and mom will hire her outright. I am currently in watch/wait mode. I am concerned about getting this woman fired, but have considered not giving evidence, but having agency take her off any rotation with mom on a "gut feeling" I can't prove. Again, getting her fired might encourage mom to hire her, which would be way worse.

Bianca12, PLEASE do not be afraid to 'rat' this person or the agency out. Your Mom is #1 always and forever.

1. Is that agency BONDED? If yes, file a mechanics lien (just forces them to stop their business and answer to the Court)
2. Do you know if this person was fired then re-hired for talking Mom into taking her back? It is also illegal for a care giver to receive a gift of any type IF THE COMPANY IS BONDED.
3. I'm out of state and I did not know ANYTHING about the bed bug infestation in Mom's house. My siblings cut me out of the circle of trust because I was forcing my sister living with Mom/step-father to answer about questionable things going on. Our daughter who is an RN went back home at 'visited' grandma and text me pictures, I was ready to get in my car and immediately drive home, kick the sister out and bring Mom here to live.
4. Get over to Mom, have a very great exterminator go through the house for the bed bugs. They only come out at night to feast on a host. If Mom is staying say on the sofa or in her bed 24/7 then that's where the infestation is.
5. These in-home workers may not be certified CNAs and aren't keeping Mom clean, feeding her or anything that makes Mom the host.
6. Then I had to deal with an ugly step-sister who was making all the decisions about in-home care....as long as my Mom benefits would be paying the bill.

Call the state to get a rating or copies of complaints.
Call adult protective services to help research the company.
Call Mom's doctor and get her in for a complete exam.

I talked with an entomologist and they do not have any answer as to how or where bed bugs get in. They aren't like fleas and ticks which thrive on a particular plant until carried off.

Yes, your Mom can become sick and her body will be covered with scars from the bugs feeding on her. It's really really bad if she is diabetic.

#1 MOM
#2 GO AFTER THIS IN-HOME SERVICE

Bianca, you asked this same question but a few weeks ago and received many answers on that thread. I’d suggest you revisit those answers. I remember personally advising that you are much too worried about having this unscrupulous aide fired. Perhaps that wasn’t the advice you were seeking?
