Find Care & Housing
Hi Jewel.
Did you mean how do you get her not to feed the dog human food?
If so, good luck on that.
First of all, the dog probably loves it and begs her for it. Second the person with dementia has probably been doing it for years. Meals on wheels actually brings my aunt dog food. If it's an issue of the lady not having dog food, that might be a solution.
Also do you know when the dog last went to the vet? Or who the vet is? Sometimes they will listen to the vet when they won't listen to others. You might call the vets office and let them know what's going on. They might give her a call or encourage her to get her dog in for a visit.
Sorry if I went off in the wrong direction. I'm sure she loves her dog and he loves her.
