If your doctor will order home health AND the patient has original Medicare, home health nurses can draw blood, take it to the lab and then forward the results to the doctor. Medicare will pay. If your patient has one of the advantage plans this may not be available. I’m not familiar with the advantage plans.
The patient will have to meet requirements to have home health such as being home bound. Look on the Medicare website for home health and see if your patient qualifies. You can find a list of home health agencies on the Medicare website using the zip code. Call one and discuss your patients situation. They will usually be able to tell you if your patient qualifies and if they offer the service. Call more than one if you like to compare. Medicare rates the HH agencies online.
