Mom (88 yrs old) has been in LTC for a few years now and her health is declining. Falls out of wheelchair. Moved to a room by herself this week. Waiting on labs and culture since Bactrim is not working. So many health issues. Now this. Mom is totally incontinent and in diapers 24/7. Not much info coming fw from facility and will call on monday. She’s been on Hospice before. She bounces back. Has anyone been down this path?

This is a very good article. What to expect? Thats a question for the DON. If Mom not already on Hospice, ask if its time.

no, she is not currently on Hospice care. We were told to “wait till monday to speak with the NP” from the Unit Mgr.

What the unit manager told you isn't helpful, is it? I'm sorry you're not getting more support and information on the ground.

Is your mom receiving hospice care now? If yes, I suggest you contact the hospice provider. If not, I suggest you contact her physician.
